Klondike Store - Image

A member of the Kinler family operated the Klondike Store on Luling Avenue near the railroad tracks, selling dry goods, groceries, and liquor.

Situated along the railroad tracks in Luling, the Klondike dated from about 1905. It was a combination grocery store, bar, bakery shop, boarding house, and home for the Kinler family. For a long time, the Klondike was the center of activity in Luling. The community was also known at times as either Kinlerville or Gassenville, due to the large number of members of those families living in the area.
