Hurricane Katrina had a devastating impact on the Zion Baptist Church.

Hurricane Katrina had a profound effect on St. Charles Parish and the entire region. Life changed dramatically after the storm and did not return to “normal” for quite some time.

Many citizens evacuated and did not return for weeks or in some cases months.

The event was front page news locally and across the nation. Local author Patrick Yoes published his personal Hurricane Katrina experiences in a book entitled Chest Deep and Rising.
